May the God of all blessings bring you peace and joy on this 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time. As we continue to pray for peace and healing in our world and community, I would like to share a few things quickly.Prayer: I was at a meeting the other night where they talked about ALPHA. It was an introduction and reminder of the good that the Alpha program brings to the parish. Most importantly, they talked about prayer and how prayer must be the beginning and end to all things…How is your prayer life?Marriage: I spent all day Friday and Saturday at meetings and talks about the hope, blessings and struggles of marriage in today’s world. First with the Bishops of California on Friday and then Worldwide Marriage Encounter (Encuentro Matrimonial) on Saturday. Marriage is the most important relational Sacrament for the building of the Church. How have we enriched our marriage in the past months?That Man is You (TMIY) (Ese Hombre Eres Tú): Learning and growing in our faith is Jesus’ call to follow him in discipleship. TMIY is a men’s ministry that calls us together to deepen our faith and serve our spouse and family with greater love. All men of the parish are invited to come. What sacrifice can I make to deepen my faith with others?Pastoral Plan Implementation: Each of the above is a call to action in our faith. The Spiritual Renewal of our Church needs our active participation in prayer, sacraments and community. How can I get involved?One of the greatest struggles I have in my discipleship is asking for help. I love to help others, but I am often timid in inviting others to assist me in my daily work and ministry. But I also know it is something that must be done. Our daily ministry as a follower of Jesus is to reach out to one another in loving of God and our neighbor. As we move forward with our Pastoral plan, I would like to invite you to continue to pray and seek ways of serving your community. Let us pray this part of the Prayer of Hope:“May your grace transform us into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel. May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos in the sure expectation of a new heaven and a new earth, when, with the powers of Evil vanquished, your glory will shine eternally.” (Pope Francis)God Bless,Fr. Que el Dios de todas las bendiciones les traiga paz y alegría en este Domingo XXIII del Tiempo Ordinario. Mientras oramos por la paz y la sanación en nuestro mundo y comunidad, me gustaría compartir brevemente algunas cosas.
1. Oración: La otra noche, estuve en una reunión donde hablaron sobre ALPHA. Fue una introducción y un recordatorio de todo lo bueno que el programa Alpha aportó a la parroquia. Y lo más importante, fue que hablaron sobre la oración y cómo ésta debe ser el principio y el fin de todo… ¿Cómo es su vida de oración?
2. Matrimonio. Pasé todo el viernes y el sábado en reuniones y charlas sobre la esperanza, las bendiciones y las dificultades del matrimonio en el mundo actual. Primeramente. el viernes fue con los Obispos de California, y luego el sábado, con el Encuentro Matrimonial Mundial. El matrimonio es el sacramento relacional más importante para la edificación de la Iglesia. ¿Cómo hemos enriquecido nuestro matrimonio en los últimos meses?
3. Ese Hombre Eres Tú. Aprender y crecer en nuestra fe es el llamado de Jesús a seguirlo en el discipulado. Ese Hombre Eras Tú es un ministerio de hombres que nos convoca a profundizar nuestra fe y servir a nuestro cónyuge y familia con mayor amor. Todos los hombres de la parroquia están invitados. ¿Qué sacrificio puedo hacer para profundizar mi fe con los demás?
4. Implementación del Plan Pastoral: Cada uno de los puntos anteriores es un llamado a la acción en nuestra fe. La Renovación Espiritual de nuestra Iglesia necesita nuestra participación activa en la oración, los sacramentos y la comunidad. ¿Cómo puedo participar?
Una de las mayores dificultades que tengo en mi discipulado es pedir ayuda. Me encanta ayudar a los demás, pero a menudo me da vergüenza invitarlos a que me ayuden en mi trabajo y ministerio diarios. Pero también sé que es algo que debe hacerse. Nuestro ministerio diario como seguidores de Jesús es acercarnos unos a otros con amor a Dios y al prójimo. A medida que avanzamos con nuestro plan pastoral, los invito a continuar orando y buscando maneras de servir a su comunidad.
Recemos esta parte de la Oración de la Esperanza: «Que tu gracia nos transforme en incansables cultivadores de las semillas del Evangelio. Que esas semillas se transformen desde dentro de la humanidad y del cosmos entero en la segura expectativa de un nuevo cielo y una nueva tierra, cuando, vencidos los poderes del Mal, tu gloria brille eternamente».
