In this good news we are happy to welcome Fr. Nghai Cao, CSsR (Redemptorist) representing Cross Catholic Outreach, whose mission simply stated is to “mobilize the global Catholic Church to transform the poor and their communities materially and spiritually for the glory of Jesus Christ.” It is the mission of our Church here in Santa Clara and each and every community served by Cross Catholic Outreach. 

In an important way on this Corpus Christi Sunday this message of hope and of one Church is the unity of the Body of Christ.   I invite you to listen to Fr. Cao with open hearts, to understand how we can support our brothers and sisters all over the world.  We are reminded that this mission is not to re-invent the work the Church is already doing but to enhance the mission of the Church in leading the spiritual growth in faith and hope.  

Fr. Cao’s message and the mission of Cross Catholic Outreach align with the Pastoral Plan of the Diocese of San Jose in bring a renewed spiritual growth to all people in recognizing the presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and in our brothers and sisters, especially the poor of the world.  Thank you for your generosity and prayers. 

Speaking of the Pastoral Plan, it seems like a long time ago we celebrated our Ministry Fair.  Once more thank you.  What are the fruits?  Many fellow parishioners stepped up to seek more information or directly volunteered for many ministries.  We have the seeds planted and growing for a “young men’s group” at our parish.  We also had a fellow parishioner step up to begin an adult class on faith formation following the Catechism of the Catholic Church. This is only the beginning…if you have any ideas for new ministry or wish to volunteer for an existing ministry, please contact us.  

Lastly, after the 12:30 p.m. Mass we will have a time of Eucharistic prayer and procession.  Fr. Ryan will lead us in a bilingual celebration in honor of this great Solemnity.
 

Con esta buena noticia, nos complace dar la bienvenida al P. Nghai Cao, CSsR  (Redentorista), representante de Cross Catholic Outreach, cuya misión, en pocas palabras, es «movilizar a la Iglesia Católica mundial para transformar a las comunidades que viven en la pobreza material y espiritualmente para la gloria de Jesucristo». Es la misión de nuestra Iglesia aquí en Santa Clara y de cada comunidad servida por Cross Catholic Outreach.

De manera importante, en este Domingo de Corpus Christi, este mensaje de esperanza y de una sola Iglesia es la unidad del Cuerpo de Cristo. Los invito a escuchar al Padre Cao con corazón abierto para comprender cómo podemos apoyar a nuestros hermanos y hermanas en todo el mundo. Recordamos que esta misión no consiste en reinventar el trabajo que la Iglesia ya realiza, sino en fortalecer su misión de liderar el crecimiento espiritual en la fe y la esperanza.

El mensaje del Padre Cao y la misión de Cross Catholic Outreach se alinean con el Plan Pastoral de la Diócesis de San José para brindar un renovado crecimiento espiritual a todas las personas, reconociendo la presencia de Jesucristo en la Eucaristía y en nuestros hermanos y hermanas, especialmente en los pobres del mundo. Gracias por su generosidad y por sus oraciones.

Hablando del Plan Pastoral, parece que fue hace mucho tiempo que celebramos nuestra Feria de Ministerios. Una vez más, gracias. ¿Cuáles son los frutos? Muchos feligreses se ofrecieron para buscar más información o se ofrecieron como voluntarios para diversos ministerios. Hemos sembrado y cultivado la semilla para un grupo de jóvenes en nuestra parroquia. También tuvimos un feligrés que se ofreció para comenzar una clase para adultos sobre formación en la fe siguiendo el Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica. Esto es solo el comienzo... Si tiene alguna idea para un nuevo ministerio o desea ser voluntario para un ministerio ya existente, por favor, contáctenos. Finalmente, después de la misa de las 12:30 p. m., tendremos un momento de oración eucarística y procesión. El padre Ryan nos dirigirá en una celebración bilingüe en honor a esta gran solemnidad.
