Let us all praise the Triune God on this Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity! Today we proclaim God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit with great joy in our journey of faith.  

The Sign of the Cross is a vital symbol to witness to God both in the public and private square. It is often the beginning and the end of greater prayers, but I would ask you to consider it as a prayer on its own. It is a prayer where we recognize the unity of the Trinity but also the distinct understanding of the reality of the three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit present in the life of faith we proclaim. I would highly recommend a little book, The Sign of the Cross by Bert Ghezzi, as a summer reading project to discuss with family and friends.  

As we look forward in beginning our summer activities at St. Lawrence the Martyr, we celebrate the traditions of hospitality of faith found in our pastoral plan. The easy ones to see are the Summer Camp, the Friday Night Dinners and Water Aerobics. It is also a time to discover how we can participate more fully in these activities and well as others.  

Next week is the Solemnity of Corpus Cristi, the parish will be celebrating two things.  

First: We will have a guest priest from Cross Catholic Outreach to talk about their mission within the Catholic Church in serving the poor and marginalized.  

“Our mission is to mobilize the global Catholic Church to transform the poor and their communities materially and spiritually for the glory of Jesus Christ.” As part of the greater Holy Catholic Church, we are invited to pray for and support our brothers and sisters around the world. We welcome our guest to hear God’s Word proclaimed. 

Second: St. Lawrence, for the second year, will be walking in procession as we profess our faith in the Real Presence of our Lord Jesus in the Eucharist. This procession will begin following the Spanish Mass at around 2:00 p.m. It is an invitation to join together as one church in proclaiming our faith in this bilingual celebration led by Fr. Ryan.  

Lastly, you may notice that I will be absent from the parish for the next two weeks as I take some time for rest and renewal. Please keep me in your prayers.

¡Alabemos todos al Dios uno y Trino en esta Solemnidad de la Santísima Trinidad! Hoy proclamamos a Dios como Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo con gran alegría en nuestro camino de fe. 

La Señal de la Cruz es un símbolo vital para dar testimonio de Dios tanto en público como en privado. A menudo es el principio y el fin de grandes oraciones, pero les pido que la consideren una oración en sí misma. Es una oración en la que reconocemos la unidad de la Trinidad, pero también la comprensión clara de la realidad de las tres personas: Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo, presentes en la vida de fe que proclamamos. Recomiendo ampliamente el librito La Señal de la Cruz de Bert Ghezzi como proyecto de lectura de verano para compartir con familiares y amigos. 

Al comenzar nuestras actividades de verano en San Lorenzo Mártir, celebramos las tradiciones de hospitalidad de la fe que se encuentran en nuestro plan pastoral: Las más fáciles de ver son el Campamento de Verano, las Cenas de los viernes por la noche y el Aeróbic Acuático. También es un momento para descubrir cómo podemos participar más plenamente en estas actividades y también en las de los demás. La próxima semana es la Solemnidad del Corpus Cristi y la parroquia celebrará dos cosas: 

Primero: Tendremos un sacerdote invitado de Cross Catholic Outreach para hablar sobre su misión dentro de la Iglesia Católica al servir a los pobres y marginados. 

“Nuestra misión es movilizar a la Iglesia Católica global para transformar a los pobres y sus comunidades, tanto material como espiritualmente, para la gloria de Jesucristo”. Como parte de la Santa Iglesia Católica, estamos invitados a orar y apoyar a nuestros hermanos y hermanas de todo el mundo. Damos la bienvenida a nuestro invitado para escuchar la proclamación de la Palabra de Dios. 

Segundo: San Lorenzo, por segundo año consecutivo, caminará en procesión para profesar nuestra fe en la Presencia Real de nuestro Señor Jesús en la Eucaristía. Esta procesión comenzará después de la Misa en español alrededor de las 2:00 p. m. Es una invitación a unirnos como una sola iglesia para proclamar nuestra fe en esta celebración bilingüe dirigida por el Padre Ryan. 

Por último, les informo que estaré ausente de la parroquia durante las próximas dos semanas para descansar y renovarme. Por favor, manténganme en sus oraciones.
