God’s grace and blessing continues to surround us in love. Happy and holy 4th Sunday in Lent. We are now officially over halfway through our Lenten journey.  Give glory and praise to God.

1. Thank you to everyone who has already participated in the Annual Diocesan Appeal by making a pledge and donation.  It is such a blessing.  Just a reminder that all monies collected over the Diocesan goal will be returned to the parish where we will use them for new carpet and refreshing the floor of the church. It is not too late…give today.
2. 2.Vocations are an important and vital part of our faith.  The Pastoral Plan asks us to take time and focus on the vocation of family, we also know the vocation to priesthood and consecrated religious life is part of this focus. We often talk about how all vocations are born within a family.  Young boys and girls see and hear their parents, grandparents and their extended living faith.  We will begin forming a Vocation Committee at St. Lawrence the Martyr to work with the wider diocese in calling and supporting young people and their families in hearing God’s call to their future vocation.  If you are interested, please contact Father Anthony for the date and time of our first meeting after Easter. Please pray for vocations.
3. After each Mass this weekend we will begin our three part Lenten series on the introduction to prayer. Today we will discuss: Why do we Pray? and next week How do we Pray? The talk will be only 20 minutes.
4. 4.Lastly, speaking of prayer, the Little Black Book talks about praying the Eucharistic Prayer.  In the reflection the author reminds us, “During the Eucharistic Prayer, barriers of time are washed away.”  This great prayer of the Church is happening both in heaven and on earth. The timelessness of the prayer places us face to face with our Lord Jesus on the altar.  It is also a reminder how the Offertory procession, as we bring our gifts forward, we are placing our lives into the hands of God and participating in this sacrifice of love entrusting our lives to the one true and living God.

¡La gracia y la bendición de Dios continúan rodeándonos en amor! ¡Feliz y santo IV domingo de Cuaresma! Ahora estamos oficialmente en la mitad de nuestro recorrido de Cuaresma, ¡Demos gloria y alabanza a Dios!

1. Gracias a todos los que ya participaron en la Campaña Diocesana Anual, haciendo una promesa y un donativo. ¡Es una gran bendición! Sólo un recordatorio: Todo el dinero recaudado una vez que se rebase la meta Diocesana, será devuelto a la parroquia donde lo usaremos para poner alfombras nuevas y para reparar el piso de la iglesia. ¡No es demasiado tarde... todavía puedes dar!
2. Las vocaciones son una parte importante y vital de nuestra fe. El Plan Pastoral nos pide tomarnos un tiempo y centrarnos en la vocación de la familia, también sabemos que la vocación al sacerdocio y a la vida religiosa consagrada es parte de este enfoque. A menudo hablamos de que todas las vocaciones nacen en el seno de una familia. Los niños ven y escuchan a sus padres, abuelos y su fe viva extendida. Comenzaremos a formar un Comité Vocacional en San Lorenzo Mártir para trabajar con toda la diócesis en llamar y apoyar a los jóvenes y sus familias para que escuchen el llamado de Dios a su futura vocación. Si está interesado, póngase en contacto con el P. Anthony para saber la fecha y hora de nuestro primer encuentro después de Pascua. ¡Por favor oren por las vocaciones!
3. Después de cada Misa este fin de semana comenzaremos nuestra serie de pláticas de Cuaresma, dividida en tres partes sobre la introducción a la oración. Hoy discutiremos: ¿Por qué oramos? y la próxima semana ¿Cómo Oramos? La charla será de sólo 20 minutos.
4. 4.Por último, hablando de oración, el Librito Negro habla de rezar la Plegaria Eucarística. En la reflexión el autor nos recuerda: “Durante la Oración Eucarística las barreras del tiempo desaparecen”. Esta gran oración de la Iglesia se está sucediendo tanto en el cielo como en la tierra. La atemporalidad de la oración nos sitúa cara a cara con nuestro Señor Jesús en el altar. También es un recordatorio de cómo en la procesión del Ofertorio, al presentar nuestras ofrendas, estamos poniendo nuestras vidas en las manos de Dios y participando en este sacrificio de amor, confiando nuestras vidas al único Dios vivo y verdadero.
